Located in Knoxville, TN, Madison, WI, or Vancouver, BC, contribute to pioneering efforts in sustainable power. This full-time position involves developing predictive models and simulations that facilitate stellarator design. You will play a vital role in guiding the commercialization of fusion energy through advanced plasma phenomena modeling. Your collaborative spirit will help bridge the gap between theory, simulation, and practical engineering challenges. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop effective frameworks for plasma operational scenarios
- Predict plasma behavior through gyrokinetic turbulence simulations
- Contribute to tools for edge plasma physics
- Support integrated modeling for plasma performance analysis
- Collaborate with engineers to optimize system design
- PhD in Plasma Physics, Computational Physics, or similar
- Solid grounding in plasma theory and numerical methods
- Experience with simulation codes and HPC environments
- Strong programming skills (Python, C++, Fortran)
- Team-oriented approach to multidisciplinary projects
