Toddler and Preschool Assistant Role
Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB)
Join as a Program Assistant focused on toddlers and preschoolers. Provide nurturing childcare while enhancing play and promoting behavior skills in an educational setting. Working under a Program Coordinator, you'll assist in creating engaging activities for young children, guiding them through play and learning experiences. Strong communication skills are necessary for understanding and meeting the diverse needs of children, as well as collaborating with the team to achieve the program's mission. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in childcare activities for toddlers and preschoolers
- Encourage learning through play-based activities
- Model appropriate behaviors for children
- Collaborate with the team to support program goals
- Ensure adherence to policies and safety guidelines
- High School Diploma necessary
- At least 1 year of group childcare experience
- Valid First Aid and CPR/AED Level C certification
- Police Record check for the Vulnerable Sector required
- Required immunizations for MMR and Tdap
