Technical Inside Sales Representative

A leader in connectivity products and custom solutions …..     We are seeking a Technical Inside Sales Representative   to build relationships, service customers, and facilitate the growth of accounts. This multi-faceted role will drive internal processes in the form of pricing, product selection, competitive cross-reference, application   assistance   and configuration. Successful Technical Inside Sales Representatives will be eager to work closely with the Outside Sales team to develop an opportunity from lead to closing.   HARTING aims to be a trusted advisor to HARTING customers and positions itself as the go-to source expert for industrial connectivity solutions. We partner directly with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Distribution partners for standard product, designed-in value-added products, and Product Development initiatives.   To succeed in this role, you will be highly driven to:  

• Enhance current relationships and develop new relationships within accounts.

• Assist customers with pricing requests, process shipment of brochures and samples, and follow up after POS. 

• Provide front line technical support for technical questions, substitutions, and cross-referencing. Interact with engineering department to find best technical solution. 

• Develop incoming leads through sales campaigns, cross-selling, and promotion of new products. 

• Identify and qualify leads. 

• Lead development of leads for mid and lower tier customers to drive sales revenue. 

• Identify sales channel and responsibility for a qualified lead outside of own scope. 

• Facilitate onboarding of new customers thru transfer to the Customer Service team. 

• Maintain the CRM, including account and contact information, leads, and opportunities. 

• Other duties as assigned. 

• Ability to travel in Ontario, Quebec, Alberta, British Columbia, and other provinces, about 2 times per year.

• Bilingual in French and English.

Requirements

Must have skills and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in technical field (engineering) desirable

• 2-3 years related experience in technical Outside / Inside Sales within a manufacturing and/or distribution environment

• Strong inside “prospecting” and outside "closing" skills with technical products in an industrial environment

• Prior experience with SAP / Microsoft Dynamics 365 and e-commerce desirable.

• Proficiency in French required.
