Huron College is a post-secondary institution with academic buildings, residences, and administrative offices. The campus environment requires proactive patrols, student engagement, incident response, and enforcement of campus policies. Security personnel contribute to maintaining a safe and respectful academic setting. 

Position: Temporary Part Time Team Lead 

Site: Huron College 

Site Address: 1349 Western Road, London, ON  N6G 1H3 

Hours:  Thursday, Friday and Saturday (8PM to 3AM)

Payrate: $22/hr

Union Status: Non-union

Overtime Method : Averaging Agreement – calculating after 88 hours bi-weekly 

Posting Date : July 9th, 2026  

Internal Closing Date: July 16th, 2026   

External Closing Date: August 15th, 2026   

Key responsibilities 

  • Working on assigned shifts, you will oversee the residence check-in guards and act as a liaison between the guards and other side contacts.
  • Maintaining confidentiality, you will be expected to interact with students, staff and members of the public to provide directions and promote good customer service while providing a security presence.
  • Implement security measures to protect property, control access to sites and ensure client rules and regulations are followed 
  • Check In each student – confirm that they are in residence with ID 
  • Watch for and report irregularities by completing incident reports such as security breaches, facility safety hazards, and emergency situations; contact emergency services such as police, fire and ambulance personnel as required. 
  • Enforce compliance to company policies and procedures
  • Training other staff members whenever necessary 
  • First Aid – be prepared to administer when required 
  • Maintaining a positive, productive work environment  
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned 

Prerequisites 

  • Valid Security License for the province of Ontario   
  • Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)  
  • Authorized to legally work in Canada 
  • English (oral and written) fluency is a must   
  • 6 months to 1 year experience as a Team Lead or Supervisor is a must 
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills 
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)   
    • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position   
    • Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
