The Aboriginal Consultation Unit is seeking a strategic and experienced leader to serve as Director, Aboriginal Consultation. Reporting to the Executive Director, the successful candidate will lead the Government of Saskatchewan's First Nation and Mtis Consultation Policy Framework and provide expert advice to ministries and Crown corporations on consultation policies, planning, and programs. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative leader with strong relationship-building, negotiation, decision-making, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Candidates typically possess a graduate, post-graduate, or law degree related to Indigenous matters, along with significant senior management experience. Extensive knowledge of Indigenous relations, consultation policy, treaty and land claim issues, public policy development, government decision-making processes, and the legal duty to consult First Nations and Mtis communities is required.

Responsibilities include leading strategic planning and policy development, providing advice on consultation matters, managing a high-performing team, building relationships with Indigenous communities and stakeholders, negotiating solutions to complex issues, and supporting government priorities related to Indigenous consultation.
