Pfizer seeks a senior scientist to lead technical delivery of AI and agentic systems projects across manufacturing networks. The role combines process modeling expertise with machine learning and generative AI to develop solutions for manufacturing automation, analysis, and decision support in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical contributions for projects spanning process modeling, data science, optimization, and control from conception through validated deployment
• Design, develop, and deploy agentic AI systems using large language models with tool use for manufacturing investigations, root cause analysis, and engineering decision support
• Develop mechanistic, hybrid, and machine learning models for chemical and biological processes; facilitate implementation as software sensors and advanced process control
• Define solution evaluation frameworks including test sets, benchmarks, monitoring mechanisms, and reliability boundaries for regulated AI system deployment
• Identify high-value opportunities for advanced analytics and AI across manufacturing networks and translate them into tailored solutions

Requirements

• Master's degree in engineering, applied mathematics, or computer science; PhD preferred
• Expert proficiency in Python with modern version control, environment management, and testing practices
• Proven experience applying data science and machine learning to real, imperfect data for actionable insights
• Practical knowledge of chemical or biological process fundamentals: kinetics, thermodynamics, heat/mass transfer, cell culture, fermentation, purification
• Ability to work in diverse, cross-functional, geographically distributed teams with strong written and oral communication
• Advanced bilingual proficiency in English and French for daily international collaboration
• Data engineering skills for structured time series and unstructured data; LLM application development experience preferred
