We are currently searching for a Surveyor to join the Field Services team in our Edmonton office.
The successful candidate will provide a variety of field construction inspection and site survey services to support design and construction of municipal or regional infrastructure projects. As the ideal candidate, you are an excellent communicator with effective organizational skills and leadership potential, who thrives in a dynamic work environment. - Topographical surveys which may include but are not limited to open field, roadway, highway, urban municipal, wastewater facilities, manhole inspections, progress surveys, and remote locations.
- Construction layout of various infrastructure types, including utility piping, roadways, sidewalks, curb and gutter, surface landscape features, pilings, etc.
- Benchmark level circuits.
- Completing the work with a variety of equipment including GPS/RTK, Total Station, and Robotic Total Station.
- Processing survey data using related desktop software such as Trimble Business Centre or Topcon Office.
- Prepare clear and concise project reports, field notes, sketches, memorandums, and other project support documentation.
- A diploma in geomatics, construction, or civil engineering technology from an accredited technical institution.
- 2-5 years of relative experience with field surveying in a municipal setting.
- Registered, or eligible for registration with ASET, ASSMT, or CIG.
- Experience in GPS/RTK projections and localizations.
- Experience with Trimble or Topcon survey equipment is considered an asset.
- Ability to perform detailed calculations, and troubleshoot technical problems when in the field.
- Experience with construction site monitoring is an asset.

- Willingness and ability to perform during busy seasons and adapt to changing demands.
- Ability to use Civil 3D/AutoCad to manipulate survey data is considered an asset.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstration of leadership capabilities.
- Possesses a valid driver's license.
- Ability to travel within Alberta for short or longer term (overnight stay) assignments.
