About the opportunity:
We are seeking a motivated team player who is committed to providing exceptional customer this role you will coordinate and provide on-site support for a variety of special events. Responsibilities include interacting with customers and members of the public performing minor building maintenance snow removal and assisting with the renovation and upkeep of landscaped areas. The position involves physical labour equipment operation routine inspections record keeping and report writing. You may also provide direction and oversight to other employees as required. The current shift for this term position is Saturday to Wednesday day shift.
About your background:
The ideal candidate will have completed Grade 12 and possess a minimum of three (3) years of directly related experience. A Level 1 First Aid certification is preferred or the ability to obtain certification within six (6) months of hire. The successful applicant will have knowledge of CSA Playground Structure Guidelines be certified to operate a tractor equipped with a 72-inch mower. Due to the nature of the work the Parks Worker 2 Special Events position requires flexibility to work outside of traditional business hours and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Following established safety protocol the incumbent may be exposed to unpleasant waste materials and other biohazards in the course of their duties. You must possess a valid Class 5 BC Drivers License (or provincial equivalent) and be able to obtain and maintain a clear Police Information Check relevant to the position.
