Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Our client, an innovative company that specializes in nuclear engineering, is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing team. This is a permanent, full-time position, with a pay range of $130-165k per annum, depending on experience, and a slew of perks and benefits including flexible vacation, retirement savings contribution, access to a professional development fund, extended health and dental insurance, and more. This is a primarily remote role requiring occasional travel to the client sites in Bruce for walkdowns as needed (approx. once or twice per month).

The Senior Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for delivering high-quality electrical design solutions for nuclear facilities. In this role, you will lead complex electrical design scopes, provide technical direction and oversight, and serve as a trusted engineering partner to clients. You will apply deep electrical engineering expertise to guide projects from concept through detailed design, while mentoring junior engineers, driving continuous improvement in design practices, and championing innovation in how nuclear electrical design work is executed.

What You’ll Drive:

• Provide technical leadership and engineering judgment, including defining electrical design approaches, resolving complex technical issues, and ensuring alignment with safety, regulatory, and project requirements.
• Prepare, review, and approve electrical engineering deliverables in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Act as a technical interface with clients, vendors, regulators, and internal stakeholders, supporting design reviews, technical meetings, and issue resolution.
• Collaborate across disciplines to define and achieve the required functionality, performance, reliability, availability, and maintainability of electrical systems and equipment.
• Support and mentor junior engineers by providing guidance, design oversight, and constructive technical feedback.
• Work closely with QA and project teams to address design issues, support audits and reviews, and ensure overall design quality.
• Contribute to the evolution of the company’s electrical design tools, standards, and processes, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and technical excellence.
