$18.51 per hourNorthern Vision Development
Status: Permanent
Hours: Part-time (14-21 hours per week)
We shape, build, and connect the North. We do this by anchoring our work in Drive, Rigour, and Kindness – ambition in what we pursue, discipline in how we deliver, and respect in how we lead.
The opportunity
Belly of the Bison is one of Whitehorse’s premier dining rooms – elevated northern cuisine, elegant comfort food, and a serious focus on wine and cocktails in a warm, modern space. As a Bartender, you are at the centre of that experience, crafting drinks that match the food, setting the tone at the bar, and helping guests feel they’ve chosen the right place for their night out.
You’ll mix signature and classic cocktails, guide guests through our wine and beverage list, and work closely with the floor team to keep service smooth. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a busy, upscale environment, takes pride in their craft, and wants to be part of a small, tight-knit team delivering consistently high standards.
What does your success look like?
- Guests at the bar and in the dining room feel welcomed, well looked after, and leave wanting to return or recommend Belly of the Bison to others.
- Cocktails, wine, and other beverages are made and served accurately, consistently, and in line with our standards for presentation and timing.
- The bar is clean, organized, and well stocked throughout service, supporting a smooth pace for both bar guests and tables.
- You work in sync with servers and the kitchen, helping the overall service run efficiently, especially during busy periods.
- Cashouts, POS entries, and basic bar controls (voids, comps, transfers) are accurate, supporting clean nightly reconciliation.
What you bring to the role
- Previous bartending or strong serving experience in a restaurant, lounge, or bar.
- Knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine.
- Confidence using a POS system and following cash and payment procedures accurately.
- Strong guest-service skills – you are approachable, observant, and able to adapt your approach.
- Ability to stay organized and calm while handling multiple drink orders, guest interactions, and bar tasks at once.
- A team-first mindset – you support your coworkers, communicate clearly, and contribute to a positive, professional culture.
