Healthcare Security Guard – High River General Hospital

Paladin Security is currently hiring Full Time Healthcare Security Guards for High River General Hospital. Our Healthcare Security Professionals play a critical role in maintaining a safe and supportive environment for patients, visitors, staff, and healthcare partners.

Healthcare Security can be both physically and emotionally demanding. Successful candidates must be confident communicators who can remain calm under pressure while providing exceptional customer service and responding effectively to dynamic situations.

Position Details

  • Site: High River General Hospital
  • Status: Full Time
  • Pay Rate: $21.93/hour
  • Start Date: August 1, 2026
  • Schedule: 4 on / 4 off rotation
  • Shift Times:
    • Days: 0700 – 1900
    • Nights: 1900 – 0700

Responsibilities

While duties may vary depending on operational needs, responsibilities may include:

  • Provide access control throughout the facility and within restricted areas
  • Conduct regular patrols of the hospital and surrounding property
  • Monitor for safety hazards, security breaches, mechanical issues, and suspicious activity
  • Respond to alarms, emergency situations, and calls for assistance
  • Monitor patient safety and support healthcare staff as required
  • Observe, document, and report incidents and irregular activities
  • Provide professional customer service to patients, visitors, contractors, and staff
  • Utilize verbal de-escalation and conflict resolution techniques when responding to difficult situations
  • Maintain detailed and accurate reports and documentation

Qualifications

  • Valid Alberta Security License is required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong observation, problem solving, and decision making abilities
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high stress situations
  • Comfortable working both independently and within a team environment
  • Physically able to complete patrol duties and respond to emergencies
  • Previous healthcare security experience is considered an asset
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
