Backfill Req.\n\nJob Overview/summary:\n\n * Leverages advanced Software knowledge and experience to design, develop, create, modify, and validate embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and/or specialized utility programs.\n\n * Analyzes user needs, software requirements, and time and cost constraints to design and customize software for optimal operational efficiency.\n\n * Designs and implements software modules for large-scale products and systems.\n\n * Participates in and leads design, coding, unit testing, debugging, and integration efforts to ensure projects are completed to specifications and schedules.\n\n * Performs complex code reviews and regression tests as well as triages and fixes issues to ensure the quality of code. \n\n * Collaborates with individuals outside the software function (e.g., Hardware, Systems, and Test engineers) to ensure solutions work with other components of a specific project.\n\n * Writes detailed technical documentation for complex Software projects.\n\n\n\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\n\u2022 Bachelor\u0027s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. \nOR \nMaster\u0027s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. \nOR \nPhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. \n \n\u2022 2+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Professional experience with compiler development\n\n * Experience with GCC and/or LLVM\n\n * Knowledge and experience in compiler frameworks such as gcc or LLVM\n\n * Programming in C/C++ and assembly languages\n\n * Knowledge of instruction sets and computer architectures - pipeline structure, hazards, cache, memory organization, etc.\n\n * Working knowledge of system software tools such as assemblers, linkers, debuggers and experience using them\n\n * Strong communication and interpersonal skills\n\n * Professional experience with large scale software codebases\n\n * Deep knowledge of software engineering\n\n * Master\u2019s degree or PhD. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.\n\n\n\n\nPrincipal Duties and Responsibilities:\n\n\u2022 Leverages advanced Software knowledge and experience to design, develop, create, modify, and validate embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and/or specialized utility programs.\n\n\u2022 Analyzes user needs, software requirements, and time and cost constraints to design and customize software for optimal operational efficiency.\n\n\u2022 Designs and implements software modules for large-scale products and systems.\n\n\u2022 Participates in and leads design, coding, unit testing, debugging, and integration efforts to ensure projects are completed to specifications and schedules.\n\n\u2022 Performs complex code reviews and regression tests as well as triages and fixes issues to ensure the quality of code.\n\n\u2022 Collaborates with individuals outside the software function (e.g., Hardware, Systems, and Test engineers) to ensure solutions work with other components of a specific project.\n\n\u2022 Writes detailed technical documentation for complex Software projects.\n\nLevel of Responsibility:\n\n\u2022 Works independently with minimal supervision.\n\n\u2022 Provides supervision/guidance to other team members. \n\n\u2022 Decision-making is significant in nature and affects work beyond immediate work group.\n\n\u2022 Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey information.
