Responsibilities

Primary focus on the installation, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of light fleet emergency and utility vehicles, with occasional work on heavy fleet equipment. Key duties include, but are not limited to:

• Emergency & warning lights, traffic advisors, and scene lighting.
• Siren & equipment controllers.
• Electronic and communications accessories; radios, cel boosters, mobile computers, antennas.
• Prisoner & K9 transport systems, weapon mounts, equipment consoles, storage system, and push bumpers.
• After-market accessories: tonneau covers, bed slides, mud flaps, running boards etc.
• Technical support to customers, outside agencies, upfitting partners and internal staff.
• Maintain a safe, clean and efficient work area.
• Track usage of shop supplies and communicate reordering requirements.
• Accountability for company-supplied tools.
• Participate in quality improvement and growth initiatives.

Education, Skills, and Qualifications

• Secondary or post-secondary education in electronics or automotive electrical systems considered an asset.
• Strong understanding of 12-volt vehicle electronics and basic 12-volt circuit design.
• Ability to disassemble and reassemble new and used vehicle body, trim, and interior components.
• Detail-oriented, dependable, punctual, safety-conscious, independent, reliable, amiable, driven, self-motivated, solution-oriented, with a positive attitude.
• Physically capable of frequent standing, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, and able to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Clear oral communication and basic legible writing skills.
• Able to work independently, maintain accurate records, identify efficiencies while ensuring quality, and contribute ideas to improve the company.
• Legally able to travel throughout Canada and the United States, with flexibility for occasional travel for training, trade shows, and customer service visits. Some after-hours or out-of-town work may be required for emergency services.
• Must be bondable with no criminal record.
• Proficient in computer use, including knowledge of Office 365.
• Must possess a minimum Class 5 driver's license and have reliable personal transportation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00-$36.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
