Software Developer – Senior (PB4P)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The position is hybrid, with up to five days onsite at the Agency’s office at 525 University Ave, Toronto. The resource is required to work onsite at the discretion of the Hiring Manager.

Job Overview

A Senior Software Developer will support the automation of the Agency’s Intake and Onboarding process, focusing on streamlining multi‑service offerings through the Onboarding Request form. The role will eliminate the need for healthcare practitioners to submit multiple requests, improving operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Review business requirements with stakeholders and clarify as needed.
  • Walk through solution designs with the Experience Optimization team and build and unit test the approved solution in lower environments.
  • Support stakeholders during validation and testing and document both the solution and promotion steps.
  • Design and develop an aligned user profile management tool to support streamlined customer experience in line with PB4P goals.

Desired Skills

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, health, engineering, computer science, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience integrating Remedy solutions with Web Services.
  • Proven team player who consistently meets demanding deadlines and builds relationships with stakeholders inside and outside the organization.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with privacy regulations and security best practices.
  • Skilled in conducting design walkthroughs with project teams.
  • Experienced in reviewing, analyzing, and updating product installation scripts, including encoding, testing, and debugging.
  • Capable of delivering post‑implementation support and resolving technical issues that arise after deployment.
  • Able to create user and system documentation as needed.
  • Comprehensive expertise with JIRA or comparable bug‑tracking platforms.
  • Strong understanding of project delivery methods within a matrixed organizational structure.

Required Skills

  • 8+ years of hands‑on experience with Remedy ARS Development.
  • 8+ years working with backend data and BMC ITSM v9+ features.
  • 8+ years conducting code reviews and unit testing.
  • 8+ years translating business requirements into functional specifications.
  • 8+ years designing and building custom, data‑driven solutions.
  • 3+ years of experience with SQL.
  • 3+ years developing reports using Smart Reporting and SSRS.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects from start to finish.

Evaluation Criteria

  • Strong experience with Remedy ARS Development (8+ years).
  • Solid experience with backend data and features of BMC ITSM v9+ (8+ years).
  • Strong experience in code review and unit testing.
  • Experience mapping business requirements into functional specifications (8+ years).
  • Experience designing and building custom data‑driven solutions (8+ years).
  • Experience developing reports, ARS code, and integrations in a Helix SaaS setting (3+ years).

Deliverables

  • Enhance Helix workflows to support multi‑service onboarding.
  • Build backend processes and Helix workflows aligned with PB4P deliverables to enable new digital product onboarding.
  • Develop backend automations to support online agreement workflows and provisioning.
  • Provide documentation, test results, and deployment guidance.

Terms

  • The engagement assignment is for 187 business days, with an option to extend for up to an additional 250 days at the Agency’s discretion.
  • The resource must comply with Agency policies and procedures.
  • Agency systems cannot be accessed from outside the province of Ontario, and Agency assets, including laptops and related equipment, cannot be removed from the province without prior written approval.

Knowledge Transfer

  • Ensure full knowledge transfer to the Agency team before the end of engagement, with documentation signed off by the designated manager or director.
  • Provide all related documentation as part of the knowledge transfer protocol.
  • Work collaboratively with the Agency team to share key deliverables, milestones, and documentation throughout the assignment.
  • Conduct a walkthrough of demos, development, etc., before the end of the engagement.
