Senior Geochemist / Senior Hydrogeochemist

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the planning and implementation of geochemical, hydrogeochemical, and/or hydrogeological projects in the mining sector across Canada.
  • Direct project managers on projects that support all phases of mining such as baseline studies, permitting, operational support and monitoring, closure planning, post‑closure monitoring, and special investigations.
  • Provide senior technical leadership and insight for geochemical/hydrogeochemical projects, offering support internally and externally.
  • Supervise, mentor, and assist with the development of technical skills of junior and intermediate level staff.
  • Contribute geochemical or hydrogeochemical expertise to large multi‑disciplinary projects in collaboration with other senior staff.
  • Represent Trinity Consultants Canada Water & Ecology in the scientific community through high‑quality deliverables, industry engagement, and participation in technical conferences.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field.
  • PGeo., PEng., or eligible.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including experience in some or all of the following areas: aqueous geochemistry investigations, acid rock drainage/metal leaching (ARD/ML) assessment, water quality, and monitoring program design and implementation (surface water, groundwater, and sediment).
  • Experience with water quality and geochemical modelling (i.e., GoldSim, PHREEQC, Geochemist’s Workbench, CE-QUAL-W2) is an asset.
  • Effective analytical and technical editing and review skills, and ability to ensure the delivery of high‑quality reports and proposals.
  • Developing a strong consulting acumen by being highly self‑directed and motivated, with a track record of achieving a high degree of client satisfaction.
  • Experience in providing senior‑level review and oversight.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, exceptional people skills, and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate complex scientific information clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, to diverse audiences including team members, clients, and regulators.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and multi‑tasking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality, excellence, and ethics.
  • Experience in the mining sector an asset.

Pay Range $80.00 to $104.00 per hour.
