The Role

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a Senior Healthcare Support Worker to join our Orthopaedic Outpatients team. Working alongside Registered Nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care and supporting patients throughout their treatment journey. Skilled Worker visa and Health and Care Worker visa

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

• Queen Elizabeth University Hospital
• Permanent, full-time
• Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, person-centred care to patients attending Orthopaedic Outpatients
• Support Registered Nurses by carrying out a range of delegated clinical and patient care tasks
• Monitor and report changes in patients' physical or psychological wellbeing to the nursing team
• Perform a range of clinical duties including observations, blood pressure monitoring, urinalysis and wound care activities
• Communicate effectively with patients, carers, relatives and members of the multidisciplinary team
• Maintain accurate records and adhere to NHSGGC policies, procedures and confidentiality standards
• Assist with equipment checks, stock control and maintaining a safe, clean clinical environment

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

• SVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent knowledge gained through relevant experience, training and development
• Experience of working in a healthcare or patient care environment
• Understanding of Healthcare Support Worker standards and professional codes of conduct
• Knowledge of infection prevention, health and safety and person-centred care principles
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships
• Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills with the ability to maintain accurate records
• A caring, compassionate approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
