The Opportunity

Job classification : P2043 - Project Coordinator

Salary range: $85,000 - $95,000. Placement within the range is typically based upon a review of skills, experience, and internal equity. 

Hours per week: 37.5

Paid leave: 4 Weeks Vacation / 14 Flex Days per year

The Program Development Coordinator works with a diverse range of stakeholders to plan, develop, and launch new programs at SAIT. As a champion for program development, this role is accountable for supporting the successful approval and launch of new credit programs and major program revisions, ensuring alignment with academic strategy, financial sustainability, market needs, and regulatory requirements.

The Coordinator leads programs through planning, design, development, and internal and external governance processes, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to established quality standards.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative and results-driven leader with strong communication, project management, teamwork, and stakeholder engagement skills.

How you'll contribute

Project Management

• Lead cross-functional teams and drive successful delivery of new program development initiatives and substantial program changes.


• Communicate program progress, milestones, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders throughout the planning and development process.


• Coordinate instructional designers, writers, subject matter experts, academic leaders, and other contributors to ensure programs are developed on time, within budget, and to established quality standards.


• Lead and document project meetings, track deliverables, and monitor progress throughout all phases of program development.


• Develop change management plans and provide guidance on organizational change management for significant program changes.

Program Design

• Validate program proposals against institutional priorities, market demand, learner outcomes, and financial viability, using professional judgment to recommend whether proposals are ready to proceed through internal and external governance.


• Lead and facilitate program design sessions with industry partners and internal SAIT stakeholders.


• Develop program business cases in collaboration with Finance, Business Analytics, Facilities Management, Academic Chairs, and other stakeholders to ensure programs are well designed, operationally feasible, and financially sustainable.

Governance

• Prepare and submit program approval documentation and program proposals with Academic Chairs to relevant decision-making bodies.


• Lead and coordinate governance and approval processes for credit programs, including preparing and submitting motions and required government approval documentation.


• Ensure program proposals and major revisions meet applicable institutional and regulatory requirements throughout the approval process.

Consultation

• Provide guidance to schools on program design, development, and governance practices.


• Document and maintain operational processes, procedures, and workflow guides to support consistency, knowledge transfer, and continuous improvement


• Consult and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify requirements, align project deliverables, and ensure operational and business needs are effectively addressed throughout the project lifecycle. 

Qualifications

Education

• Master's degree in Education preferred.


• An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Experience

• 4 to 5 years of relevant experience in a post-secondary environment.


• 2 to 3 years of experience leading or coordinating cross-functional projects.


• Experience working with multiple stakeholder groups to deliver complex projects or initiatives is an asset.

Designations & Certifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is considered an asset.
