Technical Coordinator (Civil Engineering profiles) - ALTO project/Cadence

Context

The Multidisciplinary Technical Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the technical development and interface management of a defined Sector of the Alto project across multiple civil and infrastructure disciplines. This role ensures that the design and technical deliverables for all linear infrastructures disciplines such as alignment, roadworks, railway bridges, bridges, geotechnic, earthworks, utilities, landscape, hydrology and drainage are fully coordinated with the others workstreams’ scope (Rail Systems and Rolling Stock, Environment, Facilities, Stations, …), supporting an integrated and buildable project outcome.

The position acts as a central technical focal point for cross-disciplinary coordination within the section, helping to identify interface risks, resolve design conflicts, and maintain alignment between discipline teams, project requirements, and delivery milestones. A key part of the role is to drive technical collaboration and support proactive coordination with the BIM Coordinator for model integration, clash detection, and resolution of geometric and spatial conflicts.

Missions/Main Duties

The coordinator manages the multidisciplinary technical interfaces within the assigned Alto's sector and ensures consistent communication between the involved design teams. The role supports the technical alignment of alignment, roadworks, railway bridges, bridges, geotechnic, earthworks, utilities, landscape, hydrology and drainage packages with all others workstreams’ requirements, and associated corridor constraints.

The role includes reviewing discipline outputs to confirm that designs are compatible, technically sound, and coordinated at all relevant interfaces.

The coordinator facilitates regular technical coordination meetings with internal teams and relevant stakeholders to track interface issues, review progress, and drive timely resolution of conflicts. The role is expected to maintain visibility over key technical risks and escalate critical issues where necessary.

Close collaboration with the BIM Coordinator is required to support federated model reviews, multidisciplinary coordination workflows, and clash detection processes. The coordinator helps ensure that discipline models are developed in accordance with project standards, submitted in a timely manner for integration, and reviewed to identify and resolve clashes, inconsistencies, and constructability concerns.

Key Technical Focus Areas

The role places particular emphasis on multidisciplinary interface coordination in the high-speed rail environment. Strong attention is required for:

• Corridor constraints, including alignment, gradient, and clearance for high-speed operations, as well as spatial compatibility with OCS, and dynamic envelope requirements.
• Utility and infrastructure interactions, such as power supply systems, signaling, drainage, and road/railway geometry interfaces to ensure seamless integration and operational efficiency.

Profile/Skills

Education: Civil Engineering degree.

Years of experience: 10-15 years of relevant experience

Technical competencies:

The role requires relevant experience in multidisciplinary design coordination on major infrastructure or rail/transit projects, preferably within HSR, metro, railway.

Candidates should demonstrate experience working across several infrastructure disciplines and managing technical interfaces in a complex project environment. Familiarity with BIM-based coordination processes and experience collaborating with BIM teams on clash detection and model reviews is highly desirable.

Clear verbal and written communication skills, both in French and in English.*

The successful candidate should have strong technical coordination skills and the ability to understand how different infrastructure disciplines interact within a constrained project corridor. Good communication and facilitation skills are essential, as the role requires regular interaction with multiple technical teams and stakeholders.

The role also requires sound problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and the capacity to manage competing technical priorities while maintaining project deadlines. A collaborative mindset is essential, particularly in supporting integrated design reviews and working effectively with the BIM Coordinator and discipline teams.
