We are looking for a Materials Supervisor, based in Mississauga/Oakville, who will be responsible for overseeing shipping, receiving, and storage of materials coming from suppliers and the customer. If you are highly organized and have a great attention to detail then this is the job for you!
About the Role
How you will contribute
- Plan, organize, and monitor the receiving, shipping, storage, and distribution of all items either from suppliers or production shops ensuring a smooth and consistent operation so parts and supplies are located and distributed to proper departments in an effective and efficient manner as needed to satisfy internal and external customer requirements.
- Plans and coordinates work, trains and motivates, monitors and evaluates performance of team members; ensures their ability to safely operate material handling equipment to move materials to and from storage configurations.
- Monitors the unloading or loading of all materials into or out of the facility. Supervise the movement of material to and from storage in an efficient, effective, and safe manner.
- Identify and eliminate safety and housekeeping hazards to minimize workplace accidents.
- Other duties as assigned.
Your Key Qualifications
- Position requires a high school diploma. A college degree is preferred.
- Experience supervising in an automotive or logistics based industry.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to communicate and deal with a variety of people including internal and external customers, management, and functional departments.
