You’ll support the leadership of warehouse operations, ensuring products are received, handled, stored, and distributed safely and efficiently. Working closely with the Warehouse Operations Manager, this role assists in leading the warehouse team, optimizing operational processes, and maintain high standards of safety, quality, sanitation, and service excellence. • Oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely handling, storage, and distribution of products to stores and production facilities.
• Lead, coach, and develop warehouse team members, fostering a culture of engagement, accountability, professionalism, and teamwork.
• Partner with the Warehouse Operations Manager to establish department goals, monitor performance, and identify opportunities to improve processes, labour efficiency, and operating costs.
• Coordinate with the Transportation, Warehouse, Store, and other internal teams to address supply related issues, including: shortages, damages, product rotation, and transportation concerns.
• Ensure warehouse facilities, equipment, fleet, and Material Handling Equipment are properly maintained.
• Monitor inventory, product quality, freshness, safety, security, and loss prevention, ensuring concerns are identified and addressed promptly.
• Ensure Health and Food Safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards are consistently followed.
• Oversee the timely execution of product distribution of products to stores and production facilities, ensuring seamless operational flow.
• Partner with Human Resources on hiring, training, coaching, performance management, and employee recognition, while providing ongoing direction and support to the Warehouse team.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve warehouse operations, service, quality, and efficiency, while ensuring effective communication and follow-up with internal and external partners.
• Contribute to overall team success by taking on additional related responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

• A genuine passion for delivering engaging and exceptional customer service.
• Typically requires post-secondary education in a related field, combined with 3 years of management experience in a logistics, warehouse, or distribution environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, procedures, systems, inventory management, and quality control practices.
• Proficiency with warehouse Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
• Solid understanding of workplace Health & Safety, Food Safety, sanitation, and loss prevention practices.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build an engaged and accountable team.
• Ability to effectively manage inventory, labour, space, equipment, and other resources while supporting operational efficiency and cost control.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across departments and with external partners.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing operational needs.
• Strong customer service mindset with a commitment to quality and operational excellence.
• Advanced computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and automated production systems.
• Comfortable working in a hands-on setting that involves multiple deadlines, extended periods of standing, heavy lifting, repetitive movement or tasks, frequent use of protective equipment or clothing, and work that is frequently performed in colder environments.
• Flexibility to support a dynamic schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Fluency in English; French language skills considered an asset.
