Wayfinders is seeking a Kindergarten Assistant Teacher to join our growing, nature-rooted learning community at Meadowstone Farm. This is not a conventional assistant role—it is an invitation to help cultivate a living, breathing early childhood environment grounded in Waldorf principles, seasonal rhythms, imaginative play, and the richness of land-based learning.

Accommodation is available for teachers who wish to relocate to Salt Spring Island.

✨ About the Role

• Support a mixed-age kindergarten class of ~16–20 children (ages 4–6)
• Work closely alongside a Lead Kindergarten Teacher with over 30 years of experience in Waldorf early learning.
• Help guide indoor and outdoor kindergarten activities including:
• circle
• storytelling
• practical work
• handcrafts
• baking
• gardening
• imaginative play
• Assist in creating and maintaining a calm, beautiful, rhythmical kindergarten environment
• Support children socially, emotionally, and practically throughout the day
• Participate in a Waldorf-inspired early childhood program deeply connected to nature, farm life, and seasonal rhythms

• Experienced working with young children, ideally in Waldorf, early childhood, or outdoor education settings

• Warm, grounded, practical, and collaborative, with a genuine love of children
