Wayfinders is seeking a Kindergarten Assistant Teacher to join our growing, nature-rooted learning community at Meadowstone Farm. This is not a conventional assistant role—it is an invitation to help cultivate a living, breathing early childhood environment grounded in Waldorf principles, seasonal rhythms, imaginative play, and the richness of land-based learning.
Accommodation is available for teachers who wish to relocate to Salt Spring Island.
✨ About the Role
- Support a mixed-age kindergarten class of ~16–20 children (ages 4–6)
- Work closely alongside a Lead Kindergarten Teacher with over 30 years of experience in Waldorf early learning.
- Help guide indoor and outdoor kindergarten activities including:
- circle
- storytelling
- practical work
- handcrafts
- baking
- gardening
- imaginative play
- Assist in creating and maintaining a calm, beautiful, rhythmical kindergarten environment
- Support children socially, emotionally, and practically throughout the day
- Participate in a Waldorf-inspired early childhood program deeply connected to nature, farm life, and seasonal rhythms
