Must-haves:
- 10+ years' experience in developing n-tier Enterprise applications
- Expertise in application design, latest design patterns, deployment and troubleshooting
- Expertise in JPA or Hibernate, and Spring Boot Framework
- Proficient in database design and SQL development, with solid expertise in PostgreSQL, PL/pgSQL, Azure Cosmos DB
- JavaScript / TypeScript frameworks such as React, Angular
- Experience gathering and documenting requirements from business stakeholders
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Nice to Have (Highly preferred):
- Experience building cloud-native, internet-facing applications
- Agile development experience - Scrum, User Stories, CI, and test automation etc.
- Experience with middleware, API gateways, or integration services
- Experience leading design walkthroughs and technical discussions
- Knowledge of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and WCAG standard
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to contribute to technical leadership and quality assurance
Responsibilities:
- Required to translate technical systems specifications into working, tested applications. This includes:
- Developing detailed programming specifications, writing and/or generating code, compiling data-driven programs, maintaining and conducting unit tests.
- Resolves and troubleshoots technical problems which arise during the use and operation of software packages, including technical assistance in implementation, conversion and migrations.
- Translate business requirements and technical specifications into scalable, secure, and fully tested full-stack applications
- Develop detailed technical designs and programming specifications
- Write, review, and maintain clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices
- Build and enhance data-driven applications and backend services
- Design and execute unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure quality and reliability
- Design and implement modern, responsive frontend components using React
- Develop robust backend services and APIs using Spring Boot
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices architectures
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across development, testing, and production environments
- Support application deployment, data migration, and system integration activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams through code reviews, design sessions, and Agile ceremonies
- Ensure all solutions meet security, performance, scalability, and accessibility standards (AODA compliance)
- Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and standards
- Provide technical support for implementation, system integration, data conversion, and migration activities.

Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge and experience with programming Internet-ready applications.
- Knowledge and experience in rapid application development (RAD) methodologies.
- Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices.
- Experience with middleware and gateways.
- Experience reviewing, analyzing, and modifying product installation scripts including encoding, testing, debugging.
- Ability to provide post-implementation support and resolve any post-implementation technical issues.
- Experience conducting design walkthrough sessions with project team.
- Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards.
- Familiar with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
- Ability to provide user and system documentation as required.
