Job Overview

As an Energy Advisor , you will provide energy efficiency assessments and advice to homeowners and businesses, helping them improve energy efficiency, lower energy costs, and comply with relevant environmental standards. This role involves conducting energy audits, creating energy-saving recommendations, and assisting clients in navigating available government programs, rebates, and incentives.

While previous experience as an Energy Advisor is preferred, candidates with an interest in learning the role are encouraged to apply. The following competencies are essential for success in this position:

• Site Safety Client Communications,
• Report Writing and Computer Skills (HOT2000, Word, Excel, SketchUp)
• Accurate data collection
• Building Envelope Assemblies (Air Barriers, Insulation, Windows, etc.)
• Building Science and the “House as a System” Approach
• Blower Door Testing
• The EnerGuide Rating System v.15
• HOT2000 Modeling in v.11 including cost-effective deep-energy Upgrades

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct energy audits for residential and commercial buildings, identifying areas for energy improvement.
• Provide clients with clear and actionable recommendations to reduce energy consumption and improve efficiency.
• Explain program details, potential upgrades, and rebates to clients.
• Prepare detailed reports outlining findings and proposed upgrades.
• Organize, update and submit electronic file documentation.
• Collaborate with the project management team to ensure successful implementation of energy-saving measures.
• Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to continuously improve service offerings.
• Maintain excellent client relationships and offer exceptional customer service.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as an Energy Advisor or in a similar role is highly preferred.
• Valid certification as a Registered Energy Advisor (EA) with Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is preferred.
• Strong understanding of building science, energy efficiency technologies, and renewable energy systems.
• Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for travel between client sites.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $52,800.00 per year
