Senior Manager, QC Microbiology

AbCellera seeks a Senior Manager to lead GMP quality control microbiology operations at a clinical manufacturing facility in Vancouver. The role involves managing internal lab operations, supporting external partners, overseeing contamination control strategy, and mentoring a technical team.
Responsibilities
- Lead QC Microbiology function and develop high-performing team with strategic direction
- Establish microbiology strategy including contamination control, environmental monitoring, and testing approaches
- Oversee internal QC operations: bioburden, endotoxin, microbial identification, and environmental monitoring
- Troubleshoot deviations, out-of-specification results, and microbiological events with scientific rigor
- Partner cross-functionally to define microbiology strategies and support development and manufacturing programs
Requirements
- 14+ years hands-on QC microbiology experience in regulated GMP settings
- Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or related life sciences field
- Strategic and technical expertise in microbial methods and contamination control
- Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, and developing scientists or analysts
- Knowledge of environmental monitoring, utilities monitoring, and microbiological investigations
