Join Cando as a Rail Switching Expert and engage in safe and efficient car switching operations. This role combines physical activity, teamwork, and a strong safety culture. The Switchperson position focuses on protected rail car operations on customer sites.

As part of a dedicated team, you’ll utilize your problem-solving skills to ensure safe procedures for switching cars and operating equipment. You will participate in daily inspections and maintain accurate documentation, all while adhering to Cando's high safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct clear job briefings to ensure safety
• Operate switches, apply handbrakes, and manage air hoses
• Inspect locomotives and safety equipment daily
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas
• Actively provide customer service during operations

Requirements

• Grade 12 or GED required
• Previous experience in equipment operations preferred
• Class 5 license considered an asset
• Strong physical fitness required for rail operations
• Capability to pass comprehensive safety checks
