Senior Manager Ai Engineering

Lead AI engineering for KeyCite in a hybrid Toronto role, combining Python, Java, distributed systems, and generative AI delivery.As Senior Manager, AI Engineering at Thomson Reuters, you will build and lead engineers across AI, backend services, data processing, and platform modernization. You will shape technical strategy for Westlaw’s KeyCite capability and help evolve legal research through trusted AI. This hands-on leadership role balances architecture decisions with team development and delivery.Key Responsibilities:
Hire, mentor, and develop backend, platform, and AI engineersSet scalable technical strategy and roadmap for KeyCiteProductionize generative AI and machine learning capabilitiesModernize processing, publishing, and platform servicesEstablish standards for reliability, testing, and AI evaluationRequirements:
10+ years’ experience and 7+ years in software engineering2+ years managing teams of 10 or more peopleHands-on proficiency in Python and JavaExperience with scalable backend or distributed systemsStrong cloud experience, preferably AWSGuide KeyCite’s AI engineering, platform modernization, and production delivery while leading teams through complex technical change.
