Access Assistant

BCIT’s Accessibility Services is seeking a temporary, full-time (1.0 FTE) Access Assistant . This position serves as the first point of contact for all clients of the Accessibility Services. Responds to student and staff inquiries, and assists the Examination Coordinator with processing exam requests, exam invigilation, alternative format, ergonomic furniture and equipment requests as well as records management. Performs a variety of administrative support tasks, while demonstrating sensitivity to, and understanding of the challenges faced by students with disabilities. Provides general instruction, training and technical support on the Accessibility Services software and invigilation systems, adaptive equipment and technology. The incumbent may be required to work outside normal operating hours based on service needs.
