As a Casual American Sign Language Interpreter, you will facilitate meaningful interactions and provide educational support every day. This role includes supporting deaf students, collaborating with teachers, and ensuring effective communication in the classroom. Your efforts will help create an inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide interpreting services for deaf and hard of hearing students
• Facilitate communication with peers and teachers
• Offer tutoring and note-taking support as needed
• Assist in fostering positive attitudes toward deafness
• Complete other related duties assigned by the Supervisor Requirements:
• Secondary school diploma required
• Three-year diploma in sign language interpreting
• 1.5 years of relevant experience
• Excellent communication skills essential
• Ability to build rapport with individuals Support deaf students by providing expert interpreting, fostering understanding, and enhancing educational access at OCSB.
