Content Creator & Designer (AI-Enabled)

The Role

We're hiring an in-house Content Creator & Designer — a hands-on maker who will produce the ads, videos, and visual content that power our brands. You'll shoot product and lifestyle video, design ad creative and graphics, and turn briefs into scroll-stopping content across paid social, email, web, and marketplaces.

This is a new role with senior-level visibility. You'll work directly with marketing and leadership, see your work go live fast, and watch real performance data tell you what's working. If you're prolific and hungry to build a portfolio across multiple brands — this is the seat.

What You'll Do

• Create ad creative for paid social (Meta, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest) — statics, carousels, and short-form video.

• Use our AI tools to help script content, build the plans and analyze what’s working.

• Film and edit video content: product demos, how-tos, installs, behind-the-scenes, and UGC-style ads.

• Design graphics for email campaigns, landing pages, marketplaces, and promotions across BuildDirect, TOA, and our other brands.

• Photograph products and lifestyle setups in our office/warehouse studio space.

• Keep each brand's look consistent — templates, brand kits, and asset libraries.

• Iterate quickly on creative based on performance data; volume and testing beat perfection.

• Stay on top of creative trends and platform formats, and bring new ideas to the team.

What You Bring

• 1–2 years of content creation experience (agency, in-house, freelance, or a killer personal portfolio — we care about the work, not the resume).

• Demonstrated ability shooting and editing short-form video (Premiere Pro, CapCut, DaVinci, or similar).

• Strong understanding of AI in creative and how to use it effectively to move fast and do well.

• Solid design fundamentals — Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or Canva Pro.

• Comfort being on camera or directing others on camera.

• A high-output mindset: you'd rather ship ten ideas and learn than polish one for a month.

• Organized, self-directed, and able to juggle multiple brands and deadlines.

• Able to work on-site at our Vancouver office (filming and photography require it) at least 3 days a week.

Nice to Have

• Experience with performance/DTC ad creative and an understanding of hooks, CTAs, and creative testing.

• Basic photography and lighting skills.

• Familiarity with AI creative tools for ideation and production speed.

• Interest in home improvement, interiors, or design.

Compensation & Perks

• Salary: $55,000–$65,000 CAD, based on experience.
