About the Position

We are seeking friendly, confident Security Professionals to work at a healthcare facility in Okotoks . Healthcare Security Guards play an important role in supporting the safety and well-being of healthcare staff, patients, visitors, and clients.

This position follows a 4 days on, 4 days off rotation , with shifts from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM .

Wage: $22.50–$23.00 per hour

Healthcare Security can be both physically and emotionally demanding. Security Professionals provide support, empathy, customer service, and public safety in dynamic healthcare environments. Our Healthcare managers provide 24-hour support , with an emphasis on proactively minimizing risks and providing real-time guidance when incidents occur.

A Day in the Life of a Healthcare Security Guard

While duties may vary by worksite, you may be responsible for:

• Providing access control at facility entrances and restricted areas.
• Monitoring and responding to incidents, including those identified through CCTV.
• Conducting regular patrols and identifying risks such as unlocked doors, blocked entrances or exits, mechanical issues, hazardous materials, and security breaches.
• Responding to alarms and emergency calls for assistance.
• Investigating and reporting incidents and irregularities.
• Monitoring patient safety and documenting and reporting incidents as required.

Qualifications

• Valid Alberta Security Services and Investigators Act (SSIA) Security Worker Licence.
• Strong customer service skills and a positive, professional attitude.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
• Adaptability and ability to respond effectively to changing situations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable working in a physically and emotionally demanding environment.
• Ability to work the required 4 days on, 4 days off schedule from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM .

Nice to Have

• Previous security experience.
• Previous healthcare or hospital experience.
• First Aid/CPR certification.
• Experience working with vulnerable populations.
