Experienced Nanny / Family Support Worker - 3 Children

We are a busy family in Nanaimo looking for a warm, patient, reliable, and experienced nanny/family support person to join our household and provide care for three young children. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children, is comfortable supporting children with different developmental and behavioural needs, and can provide calm, consistent, hands-on care in a busy family environment. The ideal person will be: Warm, nurturing, patient, and dependable Experienced caring for young children Comfortable working with children with ADHD, autism, developmental differences, or behavioural challenges Calm and confident during dysregulation or challenging transitions Able to establish and maintain predictable routines and boundaries Comfortable providing hands-on toddler care, including diapering, meals, dressing, and play Energetic and willing to participate in outdoor activities and active play Comfortable caring for multiple children at once A strong communicator who is comfortable working collaboratively with parents and other professionals Reliable and able to commit to a consistent schedule Comfortable providing care both independently and as part of our family's broader support team Experience with autism, ADHD, developmental disabilities, behaviour support, EAs, respite care, early childhood education, special education, or related fields would be an asset. Schedule: We are looking for a combination of regular weekday and weekend support. Weekday evenings: Approximately 4:30–8:30 p.m., Monday–Friday, with flexibility depending on availability. Weekend: Approximately 10–12 hours across Saturday and/or Sunday. Overnight respite: Ideally, we would like to establish at least one full weekend of overnight respite per month, Friday–Sunday. Overnight care could potentially take place in our home or, ideally, in the caregiver's home, depending on the caregiver's circumstances and comfort level. Qualifications & Requirements Previous professional nanny, childcare, respite, EA, support worker, or similar experience Experience with young children Experience with autism and/or ADHD strongly preferred Current Criminal Record Check / vulnerable sector screening as required References required First Aid/CPR preferred Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation would be an asset, but is not necessarily required Comfortable with diapering, meal preparation, bedtime routines, and active play Must be comfortable working within established routines and following parent-directed strategies (Part-Time, Live-Out) For morning, day, evening (for weekends)
