Production Baker

Blacksmith Bakery is Hiring! Looking for passionate and talented individuals to join our team!

We are currently hiring a Production Bakers for our Maple Ridge location. 

Must be able to work shifts starting between 5:00am -6:00am!

The ideal candidate is a team player who works well under pressure in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

You will have the opportunity to learn from an experienced kitchen team and a master Pastry Chef.

Candidates must have pastry school education or a minimum of 3 years in the industry working in a similar position.

Position Requirements:

Knowledge of pastry making and dessert finishing

Knowledge of Croissant production and lamination

Knowledge of dessert production

Leadership skills and the ability to motivate and encourage fellow staff

Math skills for count offs and measurements

3 years experience in a similar position

Written and Spoken fluency in English

Able to follow Blacksmith Bakery recipes exactly as they are taught to you.

Exceptional communication skills in both written and spoken English.

Ability to handle a fast-paced, busy and somewhat stressful environment while working.

Willing to perform tasks such as cleaning and garbage handling.

Education and Experience:

Pastry education or applicable training is an asset.

Enrolment or completion of the RED SEAL certification program through ITA an asset.

Level 1 Food Safe 

Physical Requirements:

Able to lift and carry up to 50lbs safely and must be able to stand for long periods of time.

Able to work in warm conditions around equipment that generate heat.

Other: Available to work early mornings, weekends, holidays as necessary.
