Regional Director Central, Child, Family & Community Wellness

The Regional Director, Central (RDC), based in Yellowknife, reports to the Executive Director of Child, Family and Community Wellness (CFCW) and provides strategic and operational leadership for child, family, and community wellness programs across the Central region. Working closely with regional and territorial leaders, Indigenous governments, and partners, the RDC ensures programs meet the needs of children, youth, families, and communities while driving continuous improvement, setting program objectives, and evaluating service effectiveness.

The RDC oversees the day-to-day delivery of legislated child and family services, prevention, mental health, family support, placement resources, and integrated service initiatives across Yellowknife, Lutselke, and Fort Resolution. They lead a multidisciplinary team of social workers, mental health professionals, family support staff, cultural and training leads, project managers, and administrative staff.

The role is responsible for ensuring services are client- and family-centered, culturally responsive, safe, and compliant with NTHSSA clinical standards, policies, and operating procedures, while contributing to territory-wide program development and collaboration with Indigenous governments exercising jurisdiction over child and family services.

Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by: 
Bachelor's degree in social work plus eight years relevant experience, including three years managing people and resources.
