Purpose Worley is seeking a Senior Planner/Scheduler to join our project controls team at either the Markham home office or our Oakville office location.

Work Conditions

Home Office (Monday to Thursday in office, Friday remote) 40 hours per week.

Some periodic site travel may be requested.

Ability to obtain nuclear clearance (for nuclear assignments).

Position Description This position will be responsible for establishing overall, integrated EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management) P6 schedules, including schedules for bids/proposals. The planner/scheduler must fully understand all aspects of the EPCM life cycle as it relates to schedules, achieve integration among several contributors (e.g., contractor schedules), and properly resource load in all phases of the project. They will utilize all available tools such as deliverable lists, engineering and procurement flow charts, 3D models, work packages, drawings, and estimating information to build schedules. Ongoing updates, maintenance, and analysis of schedules will also be required. The planner/scheduler will proactively identify issues, propose solutions, and update the integrated project team on potential delays or opportunities.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain master schedules (Level II‑V) based on specific project requirements and inputs from multiple departments.

Develop and maintain a resource‑loaded project master schedule per the project WBS.

Identify interface points between schedule groups and create Milestone Interface Schedules.

Create and manage EPS coding dictionaries for analysis across all schedules.

Ensure key activities and milestone dates are captured in the project master schedule.

Develop the Basis of Schedule document.

Coordinate with stakeholders: internal management, engineering and procurement leads, construction leads, turnover and commissioning groups, and client representatives.

Update the schedule with progress tracking information and align earned progress with scorecard updates.

Use Acumen Fuse to determine schedule quality and resolve shortcomings.

Conduct schedule risk analysis using Primavera Risk Analysis (PRA) software.

Assess schedule impacts as part of the change management procedure and modify the schedule accordingly.

Organize Inter‑Active Planning (IAP) sessions throughout the project lifecycle.

Coordinate with workface planning groups to ensure proper decomposition of packages in schedules.

Monitor schedule milestones, notify the project team of variances, and initiate mitigation.

Coordinate with contractors and vendors to develop and manage their schedules, including interface processes.

Organize required schedule reviews with project personnel.

Assist project controls specialists in updating various systems and applying progress to the live schedule.

Position schedule data as the source for all time‑phasing on the project, ensuring scrutiny for use in cashflow, commodities, resourcing, etc.

Create and maintain schedule views and layouts (90‑day look‑ahead, 3‑week look‑ahead, critical path, and other as required).

Coordinate with leads from each phase on schedule updates, maintaining any ad‑hoc (MS Project or Excel) schedule alignment with the master schedule.

Review variance analysis after each schedule update and include findings in reporting narratives.

Assist Project Controls in developing skyline charts for EWP IFC, module assembly, system walkdowns, and turnover.

Update and maintain reporting views that rely on schedule data, including Power BI reports.

Incorporate approved changes into the schedule and analyze impacts on the critical path.

Provide feedback to key stakeholders, including: Critical Path Analysis; Resource Forecasting/Histogram Preparation; forecast generation for Project Controls; information for internal and external reporting.

What You Will Bring

Experience in an integrated, geographically diverse design team environment.

Experience through all project phases: Study, FEED, Detail Engineering, Capital Equipment Procurement, Fabrication and Modulization, Field Construction, Commissioning.

Minimum 10 years of demonstrable experience with Primavera P6 in an EPCM setting; proficiency in scheduling and reporting.

Ability to read and understand SOW and estimating documents.

Experience with 3D modelling software such as Navisworks.

Excellent Microsoft Office skills and strong communication abilities.

General knowledge of IT programs used in estimating and project controls.

Thorough knowledge of schedule principles in project application.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to work under pressure on complex issues across multiple projects.

Knowledge of Power BI, Acumen Fuse and PRA considered an asset.

Required Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training

Engineering Degree or Certified Journeyperson with relevant experience.

For applicants based in Ontario, the salary range is $118,000 to $130,000 CAD.
