Meridia Recruitment Solutions has partnered with A-Gas in their search for a Demand Planner to join their team based in Stoney Creek, Ontario.

Role Description

The Demand Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining a single demand forecast for A-Gas' Canadian business. Working closely with Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and Customer Service teams, this role plays a critical part in aligning customer demand, inventory availability, and operational capacity across the organization's locations in Stoney Creek and Dartmouth.

The Demand Planner leads the Canadian demand review process, translating customer forecasts, sales opportunities, and historical demand into actionable planning requirements. This highly analytical role requires strong critical thinking and a proactive approach to identifying forecast risks, inventory gaps, supply constraints, and capacity challenges. Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders, the Demand Planner will support SIOP activities and drive planning decisions that improve forecasting accuracy, operational efficiency, and customer service performance.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Develop and maintain a single demand forecast for A-Gas' Canadian business.
• Consolidate demand inputs from Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and Customer Service teams.
• Analyze customer forecasts, sales opportunities, market trends, seasonality, and historical demand to support planning decisions.
• Create demand plans by product, location, and customer across Canadian operations.
• Facilitate regular demand review discussions and support weekly SIOP activities.
• Identify and communicate forecast risks, inventory gaps, supply constraints, and capacity challenges.
• Translate demand plans into actionable purchasing, production, and inventory requirements.
• Partner with commercial and operational teams to align customer demand, inventory availability, and operational capacity.
• Monitor forecast accuracy, forecast bias, and planning performance metrics, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Support inventory planning and optimization initiatives while balancing customer service and inventory objectives.
• Develop dashboards, reports, and metrics related to demand, inventory, supply, and service performance.
• Maintain planning data, product master information, lead times, and other key planning inputs.
• Support budgeting, operational planning, and longer-term forecasting activities.
• Communicate planning assumptions, priorities, risks, and recommendations to leadership and key stakeholders.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives that strengthen planning capabilities and support business growth.

Your Qualifications

The ideal candidate is a collaborative and analytical planning professional with experience balancing customer demand, inventory requirements, and operational priorities within a manufacturing, industrial, or distribution environment.

Your qualifications include:

• 3+ years of experience in Demand Planning, Forecasting, Inventory Planning, Supply Chain Planning, ideally within a manufacturing, industrial, production, or distribution environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply chain, Operations, Business, Commerce, or a related discipline; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Strong understanding of forecasting, inventory management, and demand planning principles.
• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze trends, build forecasts, and support data-driven decision-making.
• Proven ability to analyze data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage competing priorities.
• Comfortable working closely with operations teams and developing an understanding of plant and production environments.
• Considered an Asset:
• Experience participating in Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) processes.
• SAP or other ERP/planning system experience.
• APICS/ASCM certification.
• Experience with inventory optimization or supply chain analytics.
• Exposure to industrial products, manufacturing operations, chemicals, gases, or related industries.

In accordance with Ontario pay transparency requirements, the expected salary range for this position is $57,000 - $91,000 , commensurate with experience, qualifications, and overall fit.
