Machine Learning Intern

Responsibilities

• Conduct machine learning research with Epic Research scientists and programmers.
• Create and evaluate state-of-the-art machine learning models across vision, language, speech, embodied agents, and game development.
• Work on research topics such as interactive characters, game agents, tracking, reinforcement learning, speech systems, world building, diffusion models, player safety, recommendations, localization, and model distillation.
• Develop experimental programs and contribute research that may be published in top-tier conferences.

Requirements

• Be currently pursuing or have completed within the last 12 months a PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, AI, or a related field.
• Have a record of publication in top conferences or journals.
• Have experience implementing deep learning algorithms for computer vision, natural language processing, or speech/audio processing.
• Have hands-on knowledge of state-of-the-art machine learning methods including Transformers, diffusion models, and reinforcement learning.
• Have experience with post-training foundation models, including SFT, preference training, and reinforcement learning.
• Demonstrate excellent AI coding and experimental programming skills.
• Game development experience in C++ or C# is desirable.
