SWEP Curriculum Assistant Trainee

Job Responsibility: The SWEP Curriculum Assistant Trainee will work under the direction of the Curriculum Coordinator and Chief Atahm School Principal to provide Curriculum work for the school. This position is for full-time students 15 to 30 . Full details below.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Desktop publish Secwepemctsin curriculum.
• Keyboard and format curriculum, create illustrations and diagrams, produce drafts for editing, keyboard revisions.
• Laminate and bind learning resources.
• Scan material
• Assist with the Summer Institutes Program
• Experience in desktop publishing (keyboarding, scanning and formatting, Secwepemc font, binding, laminating) an asset
• Knowledge of Secwepemctsin an asset (read and write).
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite software
• Other related duties

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• This position is for First Nations secondary and post-secondary students ages 15 to 30
• Ordinarily resident on reserve or in recognized communities or on community lands
• Legally entitled to work in Canada
• Were registered as full time students during the preceding academic year and who intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

N/A

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Mostly in an office setting, continuous visual concentration on computer and/or laptop. Some lifting (up to 20 lbs), moderate periods standing, sitting.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Mostly in a typical office environment.

EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE

Equipment: Computer/Laptop, Photo copier, Printer, and Scanner

Software: Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook, Adobe Create Suite

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Criminal records check with vulnerable sector with results acceptable to ALIB.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Part-Time Fixed Term Position starting July 8, 2024 and ending August 23, 2024

Wage offered will be $19.00 per hour with 4% vacation paid out on each cheque.

Hours per week: up to 60 hours biweekly (max 30 hrs./week) with flexibility in hours/days of work.
