Job Description-Kitchen Cook/Meal Preparation

  SimplySmart Child Care Centre & Montessori is looking for a mature person to work in the Kitchen Cook/Meal Preparation role at our Oakville location to help serve catered meals and prepare snacks. We are a childcare facility focused on a clean and safe environment for the children. The individual would be required to prepare snacks for breakfast & afternoon snack.

  The Kitchen Cook will be responsible for the following:

• Helping with all meals, prepare snacks, washing dishes and covering lunches in the classroom
• Serving catered lunches
• Cleaning-up the kitchen and meals & utensils
• Ensuring Allergy and restriction requirements are met
• Keeping accurate records as per Peel Health & Ministry of Education
• Helping the center with ordering for needed food and kitchen items
• Helping with the classroom when required & covering the teachers when required
• Removing trash from the facility
• Mopping kitchen floors & facility floors
• Wiping down the inside of the refrigerator & Freezer & cleaning behind the dishwashers

We are looking for someone who wants a consistent job with consistent hours and has:

• the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• ability to work well with others
• a food handling certificate
• up to date Immunizations based on childcare regulations & TB test based on Ministry of Education requirements for childcare
• a Criminal reference check based on Ministry of Education requirements for childcare
• experience working in a kitchen
• Experience working with multiple allergies
• High school diploma
• able to carry 40 pounds
• stand for extended periods of time
