Senior Analyst Middle Office Operations 

Senior Analyst, Middle Office

Senior Analyst, Middle Office. Under the supervision of the Director, Middle office, the selected candidate will provide support and guidance within Middle office team. The senior analyst will be a key resource for any escalation from any stakeholders (traders & sales team within the institutional divisions) as well as the other divisions as required. This role will assist in trade support, P/L control, margin calls, allocations.

Main Responsibilities

Ø Review, analyze and resolve moderately complex trade issues that require in-depth evaluation.

Ø Lead projects and assist Manager with industry related initiatives.

Ø Assist management for system automation, efficiency enrichment, and risk mitigation projects.

Ø Perform end of day checks to ensure accuracy of daily work.

Ø Monitor and manage regular break resolution and month end signoff responsibilities, ensuring consistent timeliness and accuracy.

Ø Provide backup to reconcile & complete the daily & monthly P&L reporting for the institutional activity

Ø Provide a variety of reports, internally as well as for self-regulatory entities including Bank of Canada & various borrowers

Ø Play an integral role in the management of the firm’s internal securities inventory management system (BondOne-DSTS, Fidessa etc.)

Ø Help to ensure and support to maintain documentation for existing customer accounts and coordinate the opening of new customer accounts

Ø Assist members of the team to resolve escalation settlement problems and manage requests from clients

Ø Assist to be a backup to confirm inter-dealer broker and client transactions, & assist in the trade allocation process

QUALIFICATIONS

Ø 5 - 7 years of experience in middle or back office operations with an excellent understanding of fixed income & equity products;

Ø Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Economics, an asset

Ø Ability to work in a dynamic, hands-on to multi-task and fast paced environment with an attention to detail

Ø Ability to investigate and strong knowledge problem solving skills.

Ø Knowledge of a variety of trading & settlements systems including DSTS, Fidessa, Omgeo, Candeal, Arrow

Ø Strong quantitative skills and exceptional proficiency with Excel a must, with VBA knowledge
