- Interroger le client individuellement, en famille ou en groupe, pour évaluer sa situation et ses problèmes afin de déterminer les types de services nécessaires
- Effectuer des tâches administratives
- Prévoir des programmes d'aides à l'intention des clients
- Prévoir un service de référence aux organismes qui offrent de l'aide financière, de l'aide juridique, des services d'hébergement, des soins médicaux et autres services
- Défendre les intérêts du client devant les tribunaux ou lors d'auditions
- Faire pression pour obtenir des solutions aux problèmes qui les touchent
- Mener des recherches sociales
- Rédiger des rapports de recherche, des textes éducatifs et des articles
- Faire des demandes de fonds pour des programmes sociaux
- Faire des exposés lors de conférences, d'ateliers et de symposiums
- Élaborer des programmes de prévention et d'intervention afin de répondre aux besoins des collectivités
- Faire suivis et évaluations
