Remote Arctic Health Safety Representative

Apply health and safety expertise with WSP on remote Arctic projects near Inuvik or Tuktoyaktuk, supporting field crews and safe delivery. Work two weeks on and two weeks off during rotation.

This HSE Site Representative supports remediation projects and ice road construction in the Northwest Territories. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will work directly with supervisors, contractors, WSP personnel, and crews. Your work includes hazard identification, risk assessment, safety documentation, inspections, training, and incident reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify hazards and implement practical field controls
• Maintain health and safety programs, plans, and JSAs
• Conduct inspections, FLRA reviews, and corrective actions
• Lead orientations, training, and daily safety meetings
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and root causes

Requirements:

• Minimum three years of health and safety experience
• Experience supporting northern or cold-climate field projects preferred
• First Aid Level 1 and WSCC Supervisor OHS Familiarization training
• Strong written, verbal, and technical safety communication skills
• Full-class driver’s licence and Microsoft Office 365 proficiency
