Senior Software Engineer (Frontend), Search

Responsibilities

• Build and own customer-facing frontend experiences for search, recommendations, and generative AI features.
• Contribute to software architecture, implementation, delivery, operation, scalability, observability, testability, and upgradeability.
• Collaborate with backend, machine learning, platform, product, design, and other engineering teams to deliver end-to-end features.
• Advise on technical design, review code, participate in interviews, and mentor less experienced engineers.
• Define frontend code strategy and incrementally modernize complex or legacy production codebases.
• Consider performance, accessibility, SEO, quality, testing, and developer experience as first-class concerns.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional frontend software engineering experience.
• Deep experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.
• Hands-on experience with Next.js or similar modern web frameworks.
• Understanding of web performance, bundling, and optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with microfrontend architectures, monorepos, shared frontend platforms, or shared UI libraries.
• Experience collaborating with backend and platform teams on clean integration patterns.
• Experience operating in high-traffic, high-visibility environments with real user impact.
• Strong frontend systems thinking, architecture, ownership, collaboration, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with large, complex, or legacy frontend codebases and production modernization is preferred.
• Experience investing in testing and quality practices for large-scale migrations is preferred.
