Serve as the Engineering Manager for MAAS at Canonical, supporting a fully remote team throughout EMEA or the Americas. Guide the growth of private bare-metal infrastructure while mentoring your engineers.
Canonical is hiring a mid-senior Engineering Manager to oversee a distributed team dedicated to advancing private infrastructure solutions. You’ll be instrumental in coaching talent, advocating for modern practices, and engaging with both internal teams and the broader community. Your background in Python and cloud technologies will greatly enhance the team’s effectiveness while meeting the challenge of international travel for key events.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead a remote team of engineers in your time zone
• Drive talent development and career planning
• Set clear expectations with stakeholders and engineering teams
• Promote modern software development practices
• Engage in code and architectural assessments
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• Proven delivery of software using Python or Go
• Experience with Debian or Ubuntu systems
• Knowledge of distributed systems and cloud technologies
• Strong written and verbal English skills
