Start Date : ASAP 
Duration : 6 months with possibility of extension or becoming perm 
Location: Remote within Canada 

Required Skills:

• Expert-level SQL proficiency, including complex joins, window functions, CTEs, and query optimization
• Strong experience with relational databases and cloud analytical platforms (Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery preferred)
• Proven ability to build complex, reusable analytical datasets and translate business requirements into scalable data models
• Hands-on experience with semantic-layer technologies such as Cube, dbt Semantic Layer, or LookML
• Knowledge of analytical/dimensional data modeling (facts, dimensions, measures, relationships)
• Familiarity with BI and analytics platforms like Cognos, Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI
• Data validation and troubleshooting skills, including developing tests and reconciliation methods
• Proficiency with version control tools such as Git and modern development practices
• Comfortable working across analytics, BI, and data engineering teams in an iterative environment

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience with legacy platform decommissioning and reporting migrations
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools to accelerate SQL and coding tasks
• Experience with data visualization and reporting tools beyond the listed platforms
• Knowledge of security, data governance, and compliance best practices in cloud analytics

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, data, analytics, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• 5+ years in analytics engineering, BI engineering, data engineering, or related technical roles
• Demonstrated success in modernizing legacy reporting or analytical platforms and structures
