lubrication technician - automotive service and repair (Wetaskiwin)

Job Overview

Work Term: Permanent
Work Language: English
Hours: 35 hours per week
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: 2–3 years or equivalent experience
Work site: confined spaces, noisy tasks

Responsibilities

  • Add or replace hydraulic and transmission fluids
  • Assist mechanics and perform other duties as directed
  • Change engine oil and lubricate running gears or moving parts of automobiles, trucks or heavy equipment
  • Install replacement mufflers, exhaust pipes, shock absorbers or radiators
  • Repair and balance tires
  • Replace oil, air and fuel filters on motor vehicles, trucks and heavy equipment
  • Specialization in installation of shock absorbers and tires
  • Check driver’s validity licence and complete a driving record check

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Ability to pass a driving record check
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 2–3 years of experience in mechanical work similar to the duties above
  • Judgement, reliability, and teamwork skills

Physical and Safety Requirements

Work conditions and physical capabilities:- Attention to detail
- Bending, crouching, kneeling- Fast‑paced environment- Hand‑eye coordination- Physically demanding- Standing for extended periods- Weight handling up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)

Safety and equipment:- Own tools/equipment
- Steel‑toed safety boots
