Position : VFX Paint Artist
Location : Toronto, ON (Remote)
*Pay Range : $27.00 - $32.00 CAD hourly POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented VFX Paint Artist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in using industry-standard software to meticulously remove unwanted elements from live-action footage, ensuring the final visual effects shots are seamless and believable. This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines. MAIN DUTIES:
- Rotoscoping and creating accurate mattes for complex moving objects and characters.
- Paint and compositing to remove rigs, wires, markers, logos, and other unwanted on-set elements from footage.
- Plate reconstruction to fill in areas where elements have been removed, ensuring the background is consistent and clean.
- Collaborating with the VFX Supervisor and Compositing team to ensure the highest quality of work is delivered.
- Managing and organizing project files and assets in a logical and accessible manner.
- Assisting with basic compositing tasks as needed.
- Developing and maintaining an understanding of new tools and techniques in the VFX industry.
- Providing feedback and suggestions for workflow improvements.
- Archiving project files upon completion.
- Proven experience as a Paint/Roto Artist on professional film or television projects.
- Expertise in Nuke and Mocha Pro .
- A strong portfolio or reel demonstrating exceptional skills in rig removal, clean-up, and rotoscoping.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A solid understanding of color space, plate geometry, and image formats.
