Temporary 6‑month role – based at our downtown Montréal offices, in a hybrid work model

Your role

The Senior Financial Analyst is mandated to support the Finance team during year‑end activities and to strengthen payroll‑related reconciliation processes.

This person will play a highly operational role, working on payroll account reconciliations while supporting the Finance team to free up capacity during monthly and annual closing activities.

What you will accomplish daily

• Perform detailed reconciliation of payroll balance sheet accounts, including identifying, analyzing, and resolving discrepancies.
• Conduct a full‑year reconciliation of salaries and payroll expenses, ensuring alignment between payroll data, accounting entries, and the general ledger.
• Analyze historical variances and transactions, and document required adjustments.
• Prepare and record journal entries and period‑end adjustments when needed.
• Ensure accounts and analyses are properly documented and supported for year‑end and audit requirements.
• Take ownership of certain recurring monthly closing activities to free up the Finance team and allow them to focus on year‑end priorities.
• Perform various ad‑hoc financial and accounting analyses as required.
• Collaborate with Finance, Payroll, and other stakeholders to obtain necessary information and resolve discrepancies promptly.

What you need to join our team

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial analysis, or financial control.
• Strong experience in payroll and balance sheet account reconciliation.
• Solid understanding of monthly and annual closing processes.
• Good knowledge of SAP ECC, particularly the general ledger, journal entries, and financial data extraction/analysis.
• Excellent command of Excel and ability to work efficiently with large data volumes.
• Demonstrated ability to investigate discrepancies, trace transactions, and resolve accounting issues.
