DZ Driver (Boom Operator)

Job Responsibility:

Position: BOOM TRUCK OPERATOR (Building Supplies)

Hours: FULL TIME

Primary Function:

To drive and operate a Mobile Crane (Boom) Truck and deliver building materials in a safe and efficient manner, follow instructions by the supervisor to meet customer demands, and also perform other duties as required.

Work experience and other requirements:

• Must be physically fit and able to do the work involved
• One to two years similar experience highly preferred

Skills and knowledge:

• Effective written and oral communication skills (ability to speak, read and write English)
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
• Analytical and problem solving skills
• Basic skills with hand tools
• Works well under pressure
• Demonstrated ability to drive heavy commercial vehicles

Physical Activity Description:

Activities include, but, are not limited to;

• Driving a heavy commercial truck/ vehicle (valid DZ or AZ license)
• Safe operation of boom (using remote control) for unloading of building materials
• Climbing up and down stairs(houses and trucks) to secure and unsecure the load as well as to perform checks
• Bending and standing with weight
• Pulling, pushing and torso twisting movements to transfer building materials (drywall) from boom crane onto dolly
• Pull, Lift or flip drywall to stack materials (piles of drywall or other products)
• Lifting and carrying of drywall and insulation with weight up to 80 pounds

Education/ Training Requirements:

• 0 - 8 Ton Crane Certified
• Valid DZ Class Ontario driver's license (or other for truck class)

Pay: $26.00-$28.00 per hour
