Staff Engineer AI Platform
MongoDB
Lead distributed systems engineering for MongoDB’s AI platform from anywhere in Canada’s Eastern Time zone. Shape scalable infrastructure using Python, Go, and Java.
As a Staff Engineer, you will provide technical direction for a platform helping customers build AI applications with MongoDB. You will lead high-visibility work improving distributed systems performance, scalability, and reliability. The team values collaboration, intellectual curiosity, and honesty.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define service evolution with product and engineering partners
- Design and deliver tested platform components
- Shape architecture, code reviews, and development practices
- Mentor engineers and own complex projects
- Improve developer experience as the product grows
Requirements:
- Eight-plus years building distributed systems or cloud services
- Strong foundations in scalable compute and data systems
- Experience designing, testing, debugging, and tuning software
- Leadership of 15–20-person infrastructure projects
- Interest in Python, Go, and Java
