Senior Manager UW Optimization

We are seeking an upbeat and experienced Senior Manager, Personal underwriting. Reporting to the AVP of Underwriting, this position will exercise corporate office underwriting decision authority for Personal Lines and provide underwriting support with a national mandate. We are looking for a strong leader who is a connection-point in NPI for our Partners implementing national Initiatives. This position requires a proactive leader who is results driven and can ably manage the complexity of providing underwriting support for multiple insurers. Come join our team! What you'll do:

• Lead the development and implementation of NPI Underwriting initiatives that will be applied at a national level
• Lead NPI's support of national Product initiatives, including new product launches and updates to existing products
• Develop and implement underwriting changes to rules, guidelines, wordings and products, ensuring national consistency in application
• Lead NPI's support of Personal Insurance national key strategic priorities
• Underwriting decision authority in all regions with respect to High-Value Homes in all retail distribution channels
• Lead the development of a new broker scoring tool, incorporating QA results, loss ratio, profitability, growth, and other metrics
• Action insights from QA, Claims, and other partners to evolve NPI's underwriting policy and improve collaboration between NPI and partners
• Represent Aviva on external industry committees focused on national issues

What you'll bring:

• CIP or FCIP insurance designation preferred
• Insurance and leadership experience is an asset
• Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
• Strong reasoning, problem solving and decision-making skills
• Ability to work in an unstructured environment with minimal direction
• Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize
• High degree of collaboration, negotiation and influencing skills.
• Strong customer service skills and teamwork oriented
• Familiar with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Proven knowledge of Company underwriting policies and guidelines an asset
• Proven knowledge of insurance regulations in all
